This coffee comes from small farms in the Inza region of Colombia. Tierradentro is produced by about 1400 indigenous families on about 400 farms that are all certified organic. There are 8 tribes or “cabildos” that bring this coffee to us:
Yaquiva, La Gaitana, San Andres, Santa Rosa, Calderas, Tumbichucue, Turbina and San Jose del Pedregal.
The average farm is three acres and planted in Typica and Caturra.
This is our third lot of Tierradentro over the last two years and is another phenomenal cup! Expect great body with a subtle base of baker’s chocolate in this outstanding, low-acidity coffee. You will note that hints of cherry and citrus are immediately present, along with herbaceous tones as the cup cools.
