Sulawesi is an island in Indonesia and is the eleventh largest island in the world. Situated between Borneo and the Maluku Islands, Sulawesi is comprised of four peninsulas that provide astounding micro-climates and environments for diverse flora and fauna, including coffee trees.
Traditionally, Sulawesi coffee was processed via the wet hulled method similar to coffees of Sumatra. In the mid 1970’s, the TOARCO joint-venture came into being and brought a new method of coffee cherry processing to Sulawesi: the washed-process was introduced.
This bold, delicious cup comes to us from Small Holders growing coffee between 3500 and 5500 feet to sell to TOARCO. Expect a heavy body with a bit of acidity and smooth texture. Tones of citrus and savory and a dark chocolate base complete this premiere cup.
